ETSY HELP, MADE SIMPLE
Why am I getting views on Etsy but no sales?
People are finding your listing, but something may be stopping them from buying. Check whether the right shoppers are visiting, whether your photos explain the product, and whether the total price feels worth it. A handful of visits is too little to judge. Start with one listing and look for the biggest unanswered buyer question.
More views feel good. A clear reason to buy matters more.
Let’s work through itTurn visits into sales
Here’s where I’d start.
Before you change another tag, open your listing like a buyer. Can you tell what you get, how big it is, and when it will arrive? Those small gaps can make someone leave.
Check the kind of traffic
Look at where visits come from and the search terms shoppers use. A person hunting for a sewing pattern may not want your finished bag. Traffic helps when the visitor wants what you actually sell.
Show the product clearly
Use a clear first photo, then show scale, details, and what is included. For a digital file, make it obvious that nothing ships. For a custom item, show how the buyer adds their details.
Check the full buying decision
Look at the item price plus shipping, delivery dates, shop policies, and reviews. Compare similar quality products. Don’t cut your price just because someone else sells a cheaper version.
LET’S MAKE IT REAL
A tote bag buyer should not have to guess.
Imagine a handmade tote listing. These are teaching examples, not a claim that one edit caused sales.
| Buyer’s question | Make the answer easy to find |
|---|---|
| Will my laptop fit? | Show the bag’s measurements and a photo with a laptop. |
| What am I getting? | Say whether the pouch in the photo is included. |
| Will it arrive in time? | Use accurate processing and delivery information. |
| Why this price? | Show the lining, pockets, stitching, and fabric up close. |
Your next step: answer one missing question with a photo or a clear line of text.
Check your conversion rate.
Use visits and orders from the same time period. This describes what happened; it does not explain why.
Example numbers are prefilled. Use visits rather than views. A small sample can be misleading.

A FEW MORE QUESTIONS
Before you get back to your shop.
Why do people favorite my item but not buy?
They may be comparing choices, saving an idea, or waiting. A favorite shows interest, but it does not tell you why someone left. Look for missing product details before offering a discount.
What is a good Etsy conversion rate?
It depends on your product, price, traffic source, and season. Compare similar periods in your own shop. A few visits can make the rate swing wildly.
Should I run ads if I have views but no sales?
First check whether the listing gives the right buyer a clear reason to buy. Ads add paid visits; they cannot answer a missing size question or fix a confusing offer.
